Today I focus mainly on internal medicine cardiology. I enjoy diagnostic challenges, interdisciplinary problems and holistic medicine. I am delighted to put my nearly thirty years of experience at the service of my patients in Hévíz.
I graduated from the University of Medicine of Pécs in 1995. I began my career at Zala County Hospital, where I still work today. From the very beginning I have mainly treated patients with heart disease, although I obtained my cardiology qualification on the basis of a board certification in internal medicine.
I was able to start my career at a time when the development of cardiology was shaped by the increasingly widespread availability of catheter-based procedures, pacemaker therapy and cardiac surgery methods. I gained experience in these fields. For nearly twenty years I cared for patients living with pacemakers, and for more than ten years I worked in cardiac surgery intensive care. I came to know the possibilities and limitations, the benefits and risks of these so-called invasive techniques.
Today I focus mainly on internal medicine cardiology, because I believe it is important that, amid the sea of cutting-edge technology available to us, the patient as a human being is not lost.
I enjoy diagnostic challenges, interdisciplinary problems and integrative thinking – or, to use a fashionable term, “holistic medicine”. My background in internal medicine is a great help in this, but I have also studied interdisciplinary problems of psychology and psychiatry, as I myself believe in the unity of body, mind and spirit.
At Zala County Hospital I currently work in the Emergency Department, which I also headed for three years. I feel that the experience gained in emergency care and the third specialist qualification I obtained have further broadened my perspective.
I am the founder and managing director of Zalai Egészségcentrum Kft. in Zalaegerszeg, where I have been running a private internal medicine and cardiology practice since 2005.
For four years I was a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs, teaching training theory and exercise physiology to physiotherapy students. I regarded this as an area at the interface of cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular prevention. As part of the “Fat-max concept” project, which received European Union funding, I studied the effect of heart-rate-controlled training methods on fat burning.
I am delighted to put the nearly thirty years of experience I have gained in all these fields at the service of my patients in Hévíz.
