Endocrinology is concerned with the function of the endocrine glands, their diseases and treatment. The endocrine glands include the pituitary gland, the thyroid and parathyroid glands, the pancreas, the adrenal glands, the ovaries and the testes. These organs produce different hormones at different times of the day, which are essential for the body’s metabolic processes. Endocrinology covers disorders and diseases affecting the endocrine organs and their treatment.
No special preparation is required for the specialist examination. It begins with an analysis of your symptoms and taking your medical history, followed by a physical examination and a review of any existing test results. Based on all of this, the specialist decides on the appropriate treatment and, if necessary, orders further tests.
Please bring any previous test results, medical records and laboratory reports, as well as a list of the medication you are currently taking, to the examination.
Please note that Dr Erzsébet Rigó’s endocrinology clinic only sees patients aged 18 and over.
